I've played tennis since I'm five years old. It has been a big part of my life growing up. I played many Dutch junior and senior tournaments and my highest senior single ranking in the Netherlands has been 65. After finishing high school, I didn't want to stop playing yet and I heard about playing college tennis in the United States. That's how I ended up at EKU. Playing college tennis is completely different from playing tennis back home. It is way more team-oriented, which is a great aspect to add to an individual sport. You do not only learn how to play tennis by yourself, but also how to become a teamplayer. These are two very important characteristics to have. Being able to solve problems by yourself, and being able to function as part of a group.
